West Mersea Cricket Club

Afternoon all

FIRSTLY HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING INDIA v  ENGLAND ON CHANNEL 4!!!

Following the AGM on Monday a few announcements were made which we now need the help & support of all club members please.

We have received a Grant of just under £8000 from Jack Petchey. This will fund all Junior sessions this Summer ( except Summer Camp and Children playing in Adult Matches) 

It will also go a long way towards our London Barge weekend on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th September Educational Adventure Voyages for Schools | Thalatta

This trip has 20 children's spaces & 4 Adults across two barges. The cost will be £25 per child instead of about £160!

If you are interested as child or a helper, please let me know in the first instance before final numbers are completed. This trip is for Children in Year 6 and above ( as of September 2021)

We have also arranged a Junior Tour for Wednesday 11th ( leaving Mersea after the Summer Camp)  to Friday 13th August. This trip will cost £40 per child and we have 20 spaces along with 6 adult helpers ( FREE). This will cover accommodation and most meals . Once again, we need to know who is interested before we finalise numbers.

There will also be 70 FREE T shirts ( paid for by Jack Petchey and design created & approved by Freya Reilly) . Whilst these will be for TOUR there will be plenty left that we could remove Tour details from for those not attending. We simply need the size of shirt please & your nickname to personalise the shirt.

Additionally, the club sponsors Tolhurst Fisher have changed their Company Logo. We have taken the opportunity to upgrade the Club kit, design below and we hope as many of you as possible will be able to order at least a new shirt? The prices are listed below & we hope to offer a reduction of £10 per person on one piece of kit (ie if you order a shirt & trousers costing £37 this will be reduced to £27) subject to the club obtaining at least £1000 of Sponsorship over the next few weeks. the Adult Tour is booked Tuesday 27th July till Friday 30th July to Minehead. The cost is £163 per person & includes the Hotel & all Travel to the matches. We have 3 lovely games set up. If you have not paid your deposit I need £30 asap paid into the Tour Account 53690680 - 601337.  A Tour T Shirt will also be provided FREE of charge so we need your size & nickname please so that we can get this ordered.  Again, please send details to Rosie who will collate

There are 24 spaces & I would really like to fill with Mersea players  before I go out to my contacts across Essex

Finally if anyone knows someone that would like to sponsor us from as little as £50 upwards we will be sending out details very shortly

All the above is clearly totally dependent on the outcomes of COVID but hopefully they will be allowed to happen

Finally it was agreed that we will continue to support FOODBANK, via the Porch Pantry and this will be done on a quarterly basis so that if you can support you will know the exact date. These dates will be finalised by the committee but hopefully the next one will be in March & then June, September & December

We also hope to run All Stars Cricket again this Summer!
