Match report The first eleven suffered a heavy defeat at home to promotion chasing West Bergholt. The visitors posted a massive 273 for 8, of which a second wicket stand of 117, between Joe Smith (57) and Dan Wheeler scored the bulk of the runs. Wheeler (98) was eventually fifth man out, just missing out on his century. In reply, ten man Mersea were bowled out for 90 in 24 overs, with Matt Wilkin (26) the only player to top twenty. Lee Smith (4 for 29) and Matt MacDonald (3 for 32) claimed the majority of the wickets.
