Match report The Two Counties first eleven’s tale of woe continued at home to St Osyth on 29th August. In a game reduced to 35 overs per side, Mersea struggled against some excellent batting from James Handscombe (85) and Nick De’ath (48) to contain the visitors who posted 177 for 5 from their overs. Darren Rumble was the pick of the Mersea bowlers returning 3 for 47. In reply, Mersea made a disastrous start losing Adam Rutter second ball to a plum lbw shout. David Taylor (36) and Tom Sanderson (31) top scored as Mersea limped past the 100 mark, eventually being bowled out for 106.
