Match report The Two Counties first eleven arrived at St Osyth in sweltering temperatures with only seven players, three of their ten being involved in a golf tournament. St Osyth agreed to delay the start of the game until 2pm and play a 35 over game, however, by 2pm the three golfers had still not arrived. Mersea took to the field and did manage to restrict St Osyth to 42 before the remainder of the team took to the field. Eventually they posted 146 for 6, with Tom Sanderson (3 for 58) and Darren Rumble (2 for 41) the main wicket takers. In reply Mersea were in deep trouble at 24 for 7, before Digs Taylor (41no) carried his bat and enjoyed a last wicket stand of 56 with Tom Sanderson (27) as Mersea were bowled out for 99.
