Match report The Two Counties second eleven made the trip to Witham thirds, and with an average age of 57.7, did at least put a total on the board. Peter Phillips (69) and debutant Allan Highfield (44) put on 85 for the third wicket, and with Graham Pryke (23) adding useful runs they got up to 196 all out in the 44th over.
In reply Witham raced to an eight wicket success, as Mersea lacked penetration with the ball. Allan Highfield (1 for 46) and Mick Laver (1 for 43) the Mersea wicket takers.
