Match report With the second team it seems to be a case of when one win comes along, a second one is sure to follow. With bottom side Boxted the visitors for the first game of the season over the hedge. The innings was dominated by Angus Lockhart, who hit a superb unbeaten 122, enjoying stands of 143 with Peter Phillips (32) and 51 with Allan Highfield (23no) as they posted 194 for 1.
In reply, Matt Wilson scored an unbeaten 56, and Garry Green 33 at the top of the order, but with Michael Snow claiming a career best 6 for 38 Boxted were bowled out for 143. Peter Phillips (2 for 35) and Allan Highfield (2 for 0) were the other Mersea wicket takers.
