Match report Cavaliers scored a much needed win over bottom side West Mersea. In a game reduced to 35 overs per side, due to a short shower at the start of the game, the islanders took first knock. Reaching 73 for 3, with Kevin Hewes (24), they then lost four wickets for no runs to put Cavaliers in the driving seat. Pritish Singh (3 for 19) and Tony Mayhew (2 for 23) causing the damage, after Muhammadi Nadeem (2 for 16) had bowled an economical early spell. Jack Luckman (24) got the islanders over the 100 mark, but they were bowled out at the end of the 34th over for 107. Mersea briefly threatened Cavaliers in their reply, as Luke Conway claimed 2 for 6 to reduced the home side to 14 for 2 after ten overs. Noman Jalib (51no) and Nadeem (47no) then combined to put on a third wicket stand of 97 as Cavaliers eased to an eight wicket success.
