Match report The annual friendly with Rain Men saw the game meander to a draw. Mersea batted first and were bowled out in the 35th over for 170. Rory Green (28), Luke Conway (32) and Ian Young (30) all scored well at the top of the order, while Chris Hempstead was the unluckiest player on the day running out of partners and being left stranded on 47. Cooper 7 for 33 bowled well for the visitors. In reply, Rain Men never challenged the total, but were never facing defeat, as they scored 118 for 3. Nine Mersea bowlers were used, with Trevor Vince (1 for 15) and Riley Anderson (1 for 22) the only wicket takers.
