West Mersea Cricket Club Won by 89 runs

Match report Mersea secured their fourth win of the season to climb up to fifth place in Division Seven. Batting first, Mersea looked set for a big score as Graham Bowers (27) and David Taylor (68) put on a century opening stand (the first of the season), eventually reaching 104. Taylor was second man out for 68, having passed his 8000th Mersea run in the process. Luke Bruce (22, Luke Conway (31) and Ali Manhire (27) all kept the run rate up. However, Pat Donnelly (6 for 29) disrupted the innings as Mersea slumped from 201 for 4 to 215 all out in the 44th over. In reply, Luke Conway (3 for 32) and Peter Phillips (4 for 59) bowled unchanged through the first thirty overs putting Felixstowe & Corinthians well behind the required rate. Luke Bruce then mopped up the tail with 3 for 13 as the visitors were dismissed in the 35th over for 126.
