West Mersea Cricket Club Lost by 9 wickets

Match report No let up for the two's on Saturday and their team total average over the three games is now 42.66. Against the league leaders Mersea were undone by the bowling of Shaun Fox, who returned outstanding figures of 6 for 7, as Mersea were bowled out for 44. Darren Hewett was the top scorer for the islanders, enduring ninety minutes at the crease for a battling 21. The other highlight of the innings was Graham Pryke pulling a hamstring ! How does someone do that when they do not run ?
In reply, Mersea did take their first wicket of the season, courtesy of a catch by Steve Daines off of Ellis Humphreys. Humphreys, returned excellent figures of 1 for 14 from his five overs. However, that was the single success as Harwich reached their target in 11th over. Rory Green playing his first game, after a double leg break playing football, kept wicket tidily recording no byes to his name.
