Match report After a mid summer break through Lurch's wedding, the Two Counties first eleven returned to action on Saturday 23rd May, with a home victory over Long Melford 2nds. The visitors made steady progress reaching 37 for 1 from eight overs, despite a tight opening spell from Darren Rumble (1 for 18 from 10). However, the innings changed dramatically with the introduction of Luke Bruce (3 for 23) and Luke Conway (5 for 23) as they were bowled out for 111. in reply, Mersea laboured to 55 for 5, with Adam Rutter (25) top scoring, before Luke Bruce (37no) and Luke Conway (36no) put on an unbeaten stand of 57 to see Mersea to a five wicket victory.
