Match report On the 6th June, the Two Counties first eleven maintained their excellent start to the season with an eight wicket victory over a very weak Ipswich third eleven. Fair play to Ipswich who at least made the trip rather than conceding the game, they batted first after pleading with the Mersea skipper not to be subjected to an afternoon in the field, which a compassionate Luke Conway agreed to. Darren Rumble (6 for 18) and Luke Bruce (2 for 3) and Alex Young (1 for 10) then proceeded to bowl ten man Ipswich out for 31. In reply, Mersea reached the target in just over five overs, losing Ollie White for a duck and Matt Wilkin for 4 in the process. Chris Graham was undefeated on 16 having opened the innings. As a result of other games, Mersea went to the top of Division Six.
