Match report Another undisciplined performance by the Mersea batsmen have all but seen their chances of lifting silverware in the Two Counties Division Six disappear, following an agonising one wicket defeat at the hands of Kelvedon 2nd. Adam Rutter got the innings off to a rapid start with 58 from 45 balls. Luke Conway (43 from 35) and Chris Storrar (31 from 16) also put bat to ball in an aggressive manner. However, with wickets falling all to regularly, Mersea were bowled out for 182 in 29 overs to gift the visitors 16 overs in which to chase down the target. Mersea made a valiant effort, bowling 55 overs to take 9 Kelvedon wickets but were unable to claim the last. Chris Storrar (4 for 34) was the pick, but there was good back up from Darren Rumble (2 for 32) and Matt Wilkin (2 for 47).
