Match report On Easter Sunday the PiriPiri First Eleven travelled to newly promoted Great Bentley for their opening game in Division One of the North Essex Cricket League. With leaden skies about the game was reduced to 30 overs per side. Bentley were guided by the captain Joe Fowler at the top of the order with an excellent 85 as they posted 180 for 5 in their innings. James Rutter with 2 for 37 was the most successful Mersea bowler, and in the process claimed his 100th wicket for the club. In reply, another disappointing batting performance saw Mersea bowled out for 91, although Luke Conway continued his good form from the previous day by top scoring with 38.
