West Mersea Cricket Club Lost by 24 runs

Match report Unbeaten High Easter were the visitors to The Glebe on Sunday 18th May. Easter batted first and posted 219 for 7 in an innings which was led by middle order batsmen Kunjan Jasani (69). Mark Newman (37) at the top of the order and an unbeaten 51 from Matt Green at the end of the innings, helped get the visitors up to their total. Luke Conway had bowled a miserly ten over spell in the middle of the innings which returned 1 for 8. In reply, the islanders made the worse possible start losing Adam Rutter for a three ball duck. David Taylor (56) top scored in the innings, but only some late order runs from Matt Wilkin (37no) and Cameron Williams (25no), putting on a partnership of 42 for the tenth wicket, saw Mersea get as close as they did to the Easter total. Harsha Gospietti took four wickets for the visitors in their 24 run victory.
