Match report The first eleven travelled to Maldon for their Division One encounter. The Islanders batted first and were indebted to make shift opener Matt Wilkin (54) for the majority of their runs. There was a cameo from Jason Hoggarth (24) at the end of the innings, but with four other players reaching double figures and not going on Mersea were bowled out in the 38th over for 174. Michael Foster with 3 for 18 was the most successful of the Dons bowlers. The Maldon reply was dominated by Martyn Coker with an unbeaten 118, the next highest score being that of his brother Stuart (26). James Tilsley caused some panic in the Dons ranks by taking 4 for 14 to reduce them to 132 for 7, before an unbeaten eighth wicket stand between Coker and Jack Riley (14no) got Maldon to victory at the beginning of the 46th over.
