Match report The seconds travelled to Wormingford, strengthened by three first team call ups, Luke Conway, Matt Wilkin and Darren Rumble. On a sweltering afternoon, Mersea were put into bat on a straw coloured wicket, which pretty soon became apparent had many demons in it. The ball keeping low and causing the batsmen no end of problems. Neil Goodridge showed great concentration in accumulating 30 runs in almost 30 overs, whilst Matt Wilkin showed a bit more fluency top scoring with 34. Mersea were bowled out in the last over of their innings for 127. In reply, Darren Rumble quickly removed both openers on his way to 2 for 11, James Bibby (4 for 11), Kevin Hewes (2 for 4) and Trevor Vince and Lewis Johnson a wicket a piece then wrapped up proceedings fairly quickly as the Worms were shot out for 47
