Match report The Two Counties second eleven opened their campaign on May 3rd, with a trip to Boxted, and after their trials and tribulations last season opened the campaign with a win. Batting first Mersea posted 163 for 3 from their 45 overs, largely due to a career best unbeaten 81 from Peter Phillips. Ian Young (25) and Rory Green (23) put in some useful time at the top of the order. In reply, Boxted were restricted to 126 for 7 from their 45 overs, Amit Tiwari the star performer with the ball for Mersea, his fifteen overs yielding 3 for 25. Connor Green also bowled tidily to return 1 for 25 from his ten overs.
