Match report The seconds played Frinton 3rd at Great Bentley. In a change to normality, Mersea were subjected to the first innings in the field. A run out effected by Louis Elson, and a solitary wicket (1 for 34) disguised some good bowling from the Mersea youngsters without reward. Brian Wilderspin-Webb (64no) and Simon Rafferty (87no) putting on an unbroken third wicket stand of 135 as Frinton posted 206 for 2. Ollie Wyatt (0 for 44) has seen his first seven overs go for just 18, before receiving some tap in the last three overs. Similarly, Seb Gladwell (0 for 43) was 17 off his first seven overs. Amit Tiwari (0 for 18 from 8) bowled tidily before a back spasm forced him out of the game. In reply, Mersea quickly slipped to 11 for 4, and then 30 for 5, before Ian Young (42) and Ollie Wyatt, a career best 14, put on 35 for the seventh wicket. The partnership was broken by an unfortunate run out, and shortly after with the dismissal of Young, the end came with Mersea bowled out for 86.
