West Mersea Cricket Club Lost by 70 runs

Match report The T30 side travelled to strong Great Bentley side in the NECL Development League on the 18th July. It was evident after Bentley won the toss that it was to be a difficult afternoon in the field for Mersea, as Bentley made rapid progress to a 30 over score of 181 for 9. Ben Rumble (4 for 21) was the tidiest of the Mersea bowlers, although the other four main bowlers each took a wicket.
In reply, Mersea were reduced to 1 for 2, before Daniel Gladwell (22, including his first six for the club) and James Rutter (13) put on 47 for the third wicket. Ben Rumble (22 from 12 balls, including 5 fours) was the only Mersea player to reach double figures, while Steve Daines celebrating his 75th club appearance was dismissed for a duck. Mersea were bowled out for 111.
