Match report An excellent friendly against a touring West Indian side Viscounts from London, was played on Glebe 2. The Viscounts batted first and posted 190 for 4, with Charlotte Granger the pick of the Mersea bowlers with 2 for 24. Tony Butler taking a catch and a stumping off her, at the wicket. Henry Reilly (1 for 22) and Trevor Trout (1 for 23) were the other Mersea wicket takers.
In reply, Mersea never really challenged the Viscounts score as they bowled out for 109, however, there were career bests for Callum Peel-Shankar (27), Tony Butler (15) and Charlotte Granger (10), who reached cult hero status for the visitors.
