Match report After last weeks home defeat to Cavaliers in the Evening League, the side bounced back with a 22 run victory at home to Boxted. Batting first Mersea lost the prolific James Rutter cheaply for 10, before Luke Conway (33 from 20) and Corin Haines steadied the innings. Rory Green hit 27 from 23 balls, and Adam Passfield a cameo 13 from 7 balls as Mersea got through their 15 overs posting 150 for 7. Corin Haines remaining undefeated for a career best 37.
A tidy opening spell from Luke Conway (1 for 13 from 3) put early pressure on the visitors reply. Steve Evans (49) the only player to take the game to Mersea, becoming the second batter to be dismissed by Ben Rumble (2 for 34). Rory Green then chipped in with 3 for 14 from his three overs as Boxted were restricted to 128 for 8.
