Match report On the second pitch, a friendly side which were made up largely of juniors were defeated by 8 wickets by the Chelmsford Superkings. Batting first, Mersea were bowled out for 89, with Trevor Trout (20) at the top of the order, and a late rearguard from Steve Daines (25no) scoring most. Out of the youngsters Jesse Elson (5 from 43 balls), Louis Elson (2 form 28 balls) and Ruben Butler (6) in a last wicket stand of 35 should be mentioned for their application with the bat.
In reply, Superkings eased to success in fifteen overs, with Tony Butler (1 for 9) and Ruben Butler (1 for 21) taking the two wickets to fall.
